Fall Brawl - Final Schedules & Important Information!!

Thank you for participating in the 23rd Annual NOVA Fall Brawl 7v7 Lacrosse Tournament. We hope you enjoy this celebration of the game and meet some new friends along the way. This is a great time to remember why we are all involved in this great game.  The NOVA Fall Brawl is part of lacrosse culture in Northern Virginia!!
 

**SCHEDULES**
Printable Schedules have been uploaded to the http://www.laxnova.com website. Under the Fall Brawl tab, click on Schedules for printable PDFs. Please remember that we DO NOT have copies available at the field so please bring a copy with you or download to your portable device. 
 
**TOURNEY MACHINE (now called SportsEngine Tourney)**
Schedules are available on Tourney Machine. All results for the event will be kept ONLY in Tourney Machine.  Please make sure you have downloaded the app and look for the 2024 NOVA Fall Brawl.

Take the following steps to follow your team(s) and get notifications:
You can also follow your team and receive tournament updates (score postings, schedule changes, and news) via text and email.

  1. Go to www.tourneymachne.com and search for "Fall Brawl"
  2. Click the green Notifications button
  3. Follow your team and choose to receive updates via e-mail or text

**FIELD MAPS**
Our field setup is pretty simple but you may also download a copy of the Field Map in Tourney Machine or from our website at www.laxnova.com

**PARKING**
•    There is plenty of parking at Oakton including on Sutton Rd.
•    Please be cognizant of traffic control signs.
•    The lot near the tennis courts will be coned off for staff and officials.


**TEAM AREAS**
•    Team Camps may be setup anywhere on GRASS that is not being used for play and is safe from flying balls.
•    ABSOLUTELY NO OPEN FLAMES!!!
•    If you choose to have a team tent, it MUST be set up outside of the fenced playing field area of the turf fields.
•    Bottom line, NO FOOD or TENTS on the turfed, playing surface.  This includes fields not being used.
•    Absolutely no trespassing on the baseball or softball fields at any time for nay reason.
•    Remember, many teams will ONLY have a 30m break in between games so don’t go too far.
•    An award will be given to the best Team Camp each day of the event. No real criteria, just what our field staff think. Feel free to bribe them with food and drinks!
•    Consider working together with the other teams from your school or youth group.

**FALL BRAWL APPAREL**
We have a limited supply of OFFICIAL Fall Brawl apparel on sale.  The Retail Store will be near the concession stand.  We accept cash, credit cards and other electronic payments.

Here is what we have for this year:
•    Hooded Sweatshirts - $40
•    Sweatpants & Flannel Plaid Pant - $40
•    Long-Sleeve T-Shirts - $20-$30
•    Winter Hats - $15
•    Short Sleeve T-Shirts - $15

**FAN & PARENT BEHAVIOR**
Please remember our motto, “Lacrosse is meant to be FUN”. This tournament is about the “FUN” that we all get from playing, watching and supporting the game. There are no scholarships to be won this weekend but there is something much more valuable…FRIENDSHIP. Over the years, we have seen MANY friendships develop between players and parents from different schools and teams. This is what the Fall Brawl concept is all about. Our refs will make mistakes, the players will make mistakes BUT, we can all have fun!!

**PLAYER EQUIPMENT**
All equipment rules will be enforced including mouthpieces. PLEASE make sure you have one AND a backup. There MAY be a limited supply available for sale.

**JERSEYS**
Remember, WE provide the t-shirt jerseys that MUST be worn during all games. No need to bring a jersey.
 
**RULES**
Rules are posted online as well.  There were no changes from last year but remember, we do have some unique rules such as a shot out of bounds ALWAYS goes to the team that did not touch it last!

**CONCESSIONS**
The Oakton Athletic Boosters will be operating a full-service concession stand throughout the event. Standard concession stand fare along with Anita’s breakfast burritos and Chik-Fil-a.

**TRASH**
PLEASE take care of your trash throughout the day. Empty water bottles are always an issue.
 
**PETS**
Pets are NOT ALLOWED on FCPS property. Please let them stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet for the day...

**SEATING**
Please bring your own chairs as seating is NOT provided in most areas other than fields 1-3 from an endline view while in the stands.

I think that's it so we will see you all on Saturday or Sunday. We will be out all-day lining fields, picking up goals and other fun stuff. We can't wait to see you and we hope everyone has a great time and remembers that this game is about FUN!!!
